ABSTRACT:

The ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 regions of rDNA of 9 strains from Pakistan were PCR amplified and cloned. Sequences of these fragments were analyzed and phylogenetic trees were constructed with Caenorhabditis elegans as out group. Phylogenetic relationships among these strains were estimated. One of these strains MM7 belongs to Heterorhabditis and phylogenetic analysis showed the maximum similarity with H. indica. The other 8 strains were Steinernema. Phylogenetic analysis showed that strains M24, M33, G6, G98 and K8 belong to S. siamkayai, and strain 105, 109 were S. pakistanense, while strain T51 was close to S. carpocapsae.
