The operation rooms must be the cleanest area in the cleaning classification at the hospital planning. Providing hygiene and sterilization in the operation rooms is the main problem. Operation room flooring, wall and ceiling covering materials are generally produced with the most advance technology against to post operative infection cost. Importing of those materials or manufacturing with imported technology causes always changing expensive solutions. Building technical solutions that are not included in General Technical Specifications is possible only by private contracts and special unit prices. These specifications are generally based on firm catalogues and international standards. Technical applications can not be controlled truly. So, first of all it is necessary to be worked out building specifications to provide sterilized environment for hospitals.

The operation rooms should be considered as an interdisciplinary subject that obliges to work together. Engineering branches and architecture must study together with medicine, through the basic objective that we can describe as “to built areas that will contribute healing of patient directly”. The research was carried out during repair–restoration works and using period in operation rooms and intensive care units of the Faculty of Medicine Research Hospital of the Seljuk University .
