ABSTRACT:

Investigation area contains hot and mineralized waters and also waters with low temperature yet lots of natural minerals waters and akroderm waters too.

Hot and mineral springs are located in the centre of Rize Country, Çamlıhemşin, İkizdere Districts and Ayder and Ilıca Villages. Springs that is fault spring, discharge from NW-SE, NE-SW, N-S direction normal fault and probable faults. Ayder Springs have temperature range from 33 to 47 oC, their discharge range from 0.5 to 2 l/s. Hot and mineral water on this area have 53 oC temperature, and their discharges are 14 l/s. Ayder spring is classified as “Na, SO4, HCO3”” hot water. Ilıcaköy and Orahun hot water springs have temperature range from 24 to 30 oC, their discharges range from 0.01 to 1 l/s. There are exitting of dense H2S, and Iron Oxide and carbonate sediments present on the spring surroundings. Chemical properties of the hot water springs are aquatherm.

Other springs ın the study area have low temperature and mineralized waters. Springs are fed from fault and fissure of intruzif massifs with acidic characters. Andon springs in the Centre District discharge from two different points. Temperatures of these springs range from 9 to 10 oC, total is 0.2 l/s. At the surrounding of springs present dense carbon dioxide and Ironoxide sediments exits. Spring waters are classifield as Na-Ca-HCO3-SO4 waters. Şimşirli, İkizdere, Tosköy, Katalan, Pendazlı, Eskice, Anzer and Parayer springs that have temperature between 10-14 oC, discharge between 0.003-1 l/s, aremineralized waters. According to AIH, mineralized spring waters are classification as Na, HCO3, SO4, Cl, B mineralized waters.

It is necessary to increase temperatures and discharges of the thermal waters with drilling to use in thermal tourism.
